Call for Expressions of Interest

SOLUTIONSplus Replication and Legacy

Opening of the call: May 2nd, 2024

Closing of the call: May 15th, 2024 - 11:59 pm (CET)

SOLUTIONSplus is an EU-funded flagship project, bringing together 48 international partners that was launched in January 2020 and has a duration of 4 years. The project aims to boost sustainable electrification of transport in large urban areas in developing countries and emerging economies. The project is coordinated by the Urban Electric Mobility Initiative, a UN-Habitat Action Platform and this call for replication cases is co-facilitated by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).

SOLUTIONSplus brings together highly committed cities, industry, research, implementing organizations and finance partners and establishes a global platform for shared, public and commercial e-mobility solutions to kick start the transition towards low-carbon urban mobility. The project encompasses city level demonstrations to test different types of innovative and integrated e-mobility solutions, complemented by a comprehensive toolbox, capacity development and replication activities. Demonstration actions have been launched in Hanoi (Vietnam), Pasig (Philippines), Lalitpur/Kathmandu (Nepal), Kigali (Rwanda), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Quito (Ecuador), Montevideo (Uruguay), Madrid (Spain), Nanjing (China) and Hamburg (Germany). More information about the SOLUTIONSplus demonstration projects is available on the project website: https://www.solutionsplus.eu/living-labs

Focus of this call

We are delighted to invite potential partners to join us in the final phase of the SOLUTIONSplus project, a pivotal endeavor aimed at broadening the impact of our innovative urban mobility solutions. As we compile the SOLUTIONSplus Replication Guide, our goal extends beyond creating a manual. We aim to cultivate a collaborative network that will propel the adoption and adaptation of these successful models across different regions.

This initiative will serve as a key resource for local governments, organizations, and stakeholders eager to implement proven strategies and enhance urban mobility and quality of life in their communities. By joining forces, we can ensure that the insights, methodologies, and successes of the SOLUTIONSplus project are effectively disseminated and utilized worldwide.

Our call to action seeks partners who are ready to contribute to and benefit from a comprehensive guide that not only documents our successes but also provides clear, actionable guidelines for replication. This collective effort will enable participants to leverage adaptable resources and tailored examples that resonate with their unique local contexts.

Together, we can achieve our overarching goal of ensuring that the knowledge and accomplishments of the SOLUTIONSplus project have a lasting impact, reaching well beyond its original scope. We look forward to welcoming new partners to this transformative project, helping to create sustainable and innovative solutions for cities around the globe.
