Hanoi - Advancing Electric Two-Wheelers: Successful SOLUTIONSplus Asia Event in Hanoi

Exciting news from the SOLUTIONSplus Asia event! On March 4th, 2024, in Hanoi, Vietnam, we had a successful gathering focused on advancing electric two-wheeler initiatives. Organized by Hanoi UTT in collaboration with UN Environment ProgrammeWuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy, Urban Electric Mobility Initiative, and Clean Air Asia.


The event featured an opening speech by Mr. Le Anh Tuan, Vice Minister of Transport, emphasizing the role of green energy in transforming Vietnam's transportation sector. Various topics were discussed, including the current status, needs, barriers, and opportunities of the shared electric two-wheeler system in Hanoi, legal frameworks, institutional setups, operating models, and integrating Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) in the transport system.




Promoting gender mainstreaming and in the transition to electric transportation in Vietnam. Analyzing the current situation and building a Monitoring Reporting and Verification (MRV) framework for electric two-wheelers - with a contribution from experts from Hanoi UTT, June Yeonju Jeong from UNEP, Shritu Shrestha from Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy , Alvin Mejia from UEMI, Tory Damantoro from Indonesian Transport Association, Hassan Hussin from Rupprecht Consult, Anouj Mehta from Asian Development Bank 


We were joined by esteemed delegates from government bodies, international organizations, businesses, associations, research institutes, and universities.
