SOLUTIONSplus Course 3 - Mobility as a Service and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)
The third e-course of the SOLUTIONSplus global learning programme on electric mobility aims to explore the relationship between e-mobility in the current pursuit to decarbonise our transport systems and establish a link with the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) solutions and shared mobility or Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS). The course is designed for city and regional authorities but can provide a solid knowledge base for any stakeholder involved or interested in e-mobility, ITS and MaaS. The kick-off webinar will provide key information and guidance about this e-course and the learning programme and the SOLUTIONSplus project.
The SOLUTIONSplus partners have been working with experts from the MaaS Alliance, ERTICO, HITRANS, Transport for West Midlands, POLIS, City Able, PluService SRL, UITP, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Finland, MobilityData and SWARCO, to develop this new e-course.
The e-course will last from 17th of January until 24th February 2023.
Four different units make up this e-course, spread out over a few weeks. Unit 1, led by ERTICO introduces MaaS and its core concepts. The unit explores the necessity of digitisation to deploy MaaS and how to enable behavioral change in citizens. POLISleads Unit 2 on users and customers’ needs to ensure accessible and affordable services. Planning and ticketing are also addressed, as well as local needs around MaaS services. ERTICO then examines the standards needed to deploy MaaS in cities in Unit 3. This unit also looks at the public vs private approach to MaaS and presents the MaaS Alliance playbook. Finally, in Unit 4, SWARCO explores the role of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in supporting MaaS. New forms of mobility are discussed in this unit, as well as sustainable solutions for the transport of people and goods, advancements in traffic management measures, and transport policies.
