ICLEI World Congress 2021-2022: The Road to Malmö Virtual event series with various presentations on critical topics in sustainable urban development.
Transport, as one of the principal sources of CO2 emissions, represents a major challenge for countries aiming to reduce emissions and make cities more livable, healthier and people-centered. Since cities set the course of global development, urban transformation is key to a more sustainable world and for achieving global objectives such as the Sustainable Development Goals or the Paris Agreement. Looking forward to a post-pandemic era, urban mobility must be promoted through integrated, socially inclusive and environmentally friendly options while reducing the reliance on privately-owned vehicles. Following the virtual launch of the ICLEI World Congress 2021-2022 in April 2021, ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability is hosting a Webinar Series titled “The Road to Malmö”. The session on 22nd of September 2021, 16:00 - 17:00 CEST will focus on the importance of transport policies in order to combat climate change and build healthier cities. In this session a presentation on the SOLUTIONSplus work will be shared and partner cities will present their demonstration projects of innovative e-mobility solutions.
During the one-hour event, participants can join the panel discussion and ask questions. The Webinar will take place via Zoom. For further information, please refer to the links below.
