Integration: Eco Routing
Eco-routing involves the development of an optimization application that is designed to assist vehicle users determine the most energy-efficient route out of different route options. By so doing, users can reduce power consumption thereby minimizing the carbon footprint of their journeys. An Eco-Routing functionality for public transport could be implemented in the MaaS platform or as stand-alone application to enable users to choose (next to the fastest route) the most efficient route in terms of CO2 emissions. Eco-routing models are being used to help in cost optimization for battery energy utilization and promote demand and use of electric vehicles in cities.
